Werner Herzog

This is the funniest thing in the world to me.

Interesting to contrast Herzog with Annie Dillard, whose approach to nature is one of humility, wonder and awe, like "the longer I look at this, the more I realize just how brilliantly it all works together. I think I'll study it some more and see what else it can teach me". Do you suppose Herzog read a little too much Nietzsche in his formative years?

Kari - I DIED when you sent me the email. I was in a mixture of shock, horror, glee, fascination and sheer awe. GENIUS. I saw we all watch it on Saturday just to get the ball rolling... just in the spirit of the season, you know? FORNICATING AMAZONS!

I completely agree with Misha. I had to get over the horror and shock before I could get to the pure ironic nature of the video. Aren't people interesting...
