One sentence that changed my life forever:

"Try washing your paintbrushes in hot water, and be sure to use soap"

No longer will I be known as "Kari the Paintbrush Destroyer" because I despise 15 minute paintbrush rinsing sessions.

Tonite, I cleaned a 2 1/2" brush in 3 minutes. Not even a hint of tint in the water I squeezed out of it.

Thank you dear Sherwin Williams sales lady.

(did everyone already know about this except me? And I'm talking about big brushes for painting the walls, not artsy brushes)

We knew to use soap, but not hot water.

I just did it that way because I wash everything like

One thing I did learn when I painted Jacob's room a few years ago, and has been so helpful since, was to use some hair conditioner on the brush after you get it clean. It keeps the bristles all soft and smooth.

I have very few home-improvement tips, that's pretty much my only one!

Doesn't it make painting soooo much more tolerable when you know you can get the darn paint out at the end? I'm glad the sales lady was so helpful!

Do you wanna come over and play? I think Saben should teach Sydney some of his arts and crafts goodness. so cute!
